Hi, I gave this to my mom for her B-day, and it was a great surprise to her, and she loved it. She watches the Wonder Woman TV series on TV every Saturday, and she keeps this right on top of the cable box. It's very nicely detailed, and not too big, and the speaker is surprisingly loud, and the sayings are nice and clear. The included book is tiny, but so cool. It's filled with funny and inspirational lessons from WW, as well as some classic Wonder Woman comic book covers. The print quality is very nice.This is just a very well thought out product that would make the perfect gift for any Wonder Woman fan, no matter their age.

I enjoyed this book. Robert Stein discusses the life of Christ in layman's terms. He makes it clear from the get go that how you feel about the possibility of the supernatural is going to determine how you approach the data in the gospels.Stein surveys the references to Christ in the secular literature of the period. He also looks at some of the partisan, non-canonical literature as well as texts like the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas.Stein discusses the different criteria for determining the authenticity of a saying or event in the life of Jesus. Multiple attestation, the criterion of dissimilarity and others are examples of what to look for in studying the gospels. If something is written in the Gospels that would appear to put Jesus or the Gospel message in a questionable light (Jesus calling Peter "Satan," Jesus cursing the fig tree), it most probably authentic.There are places within the book where I wish that Stein would take more of a stand. He concludes that at this time, there is no satisfactory explanation for why Quirinius was listed as the governor at the time of Christ's birth when it seems that he wasn't appointed to that position until later. He lists many options, but is cautious about adopting anything. But judging from Luke's accuracy elsewhere, why can't we simply say that Luke probably knows more about his world than we do? Although Stein doesn't say so, perhaps he would agree. He does point out that Luke has shown elsewhere to be trustworthy in his knowledge of history (Acts 5:37).Stein is also reluctant to adopt a position on the two differing genealogies of Jesus and he feels that there is no way at the present time that we can reconcile John and the Synoptics concerning the timing of the Last Supper. He feels that history is on the side of Matthew, Mark and Luke about the Last Supper being a Passover Meal, but he cannot explain why John sees the meal as occuring the day before the Passover. But since John has shown throughout his gospel that he is more concerned with making theological statements about Christ than chronological statements, is it possible we can assume the same here? If John can transfer the timing of the cleansing of the temple from the end of Christ's ministry to the beginning of Christ's ministry for theological emphasis, then what's the big deal about bumping the Last Supper back one day for theological emphasis?I understand that these are delicate and debatable issues, and I do appreciate that Stein lays out all the available possibilities. But Stein seems content to say in effect that we'll understand it better by and by.Having said this, I still think the book is really good. Stein makes a compelling case for the historicity of the crucifixion and the death of Christ, and also for the empty tomb and resurrection of Christ.Stein is a great evangelical scholar, and his books have helped me enormously in my own readings of the Gospels. This one is very good also, but at times, it raises more questions than it answers.

This book by Robert Stein was helpful in many ways, serving as a help for my morning devotions. It contains some helpful material on the life of Christ, but also dwells quite a bit on refuting liberal criticism. The latter was not what I was looking for, but all in all, the book was worth the price and the time spent reading. It honors Christ and the Scriptures.

I got this book as a part of my "Jesus and his interpreters" class. I find this book very enjoyable. It is informative, thought provoking and easy to read. This is not a dry book, it keeps your interest. I would encourage anyone interested in the study of Jesus to read this. The complaints about the apologetic nature of some of the material seems to be a bit absurd. As a Christian we are to be prepared to give an answer for our faith. Why would you dislike having information that could help you in that endeavor? To me that is much like going to the store for a box of cereal and complaining about being given a free carton of milk. In this post-modern age of ours, it is not enough to have an understanding about Jesus; his life, ministry, death and resurrection. We must also have the information to respond to critics. A book that offers both is a plus.

Some great and detailed maps however much of the detail is far too busy. Most importantly, WHY ARE THE MAPS ON THE LEFT PAGES?!?!! All of the historical information is on the right page, the one that lays flat against the table but the page that you color is on the left, where you have to press and push and struggle to flatten the page so you can color. Ugh. This cannot have been a conscious choice. A lot of potential here. Poor execution.

I recently bought the Geography Coloring Book and really love it except for the fact that it was published in 2002 and now some important details have changed. For example the capitals of Tanzania, Nigeria and Mozambique have changed names/locations, the Balkan countries are incorrect with Yugoslavia gone and Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro becoming independent countries and South Sedan that has seceded from Sudan. I am hoping that this book will be updated soon and I can purchase a new copy..

I've completed both the anatomy and the physiology coloring books in college for my BSN. I aced both courses, all levels and honestly because these coloring books are great study aids.I like to color to relax and I'd rather do coloring books in which I learn like with my science coloring books in college.I wasn't really good at geography so I was excited that there was a coloring book by the same author who did the anatomy and physiology coloring books I so enjoyed. I still keep and refer to them. They also helped me ace my other related science courses. I still see the colors and the visual when I think about whatever topic. I still use them as a reference point.This is a superb book and, as I expected, well organized. It's more than geography and covers populations, land use, rain fail, climate and all things related.,One down would be that I had a hard time grasping the overall coloring instructions at first. The examples are on the front page and it refers to that. It could be a better example and/or a better explanation. Or maybe I'm slow. I soon figured it out though.The only other down would be that it's a little old (2003). I would totally buy an updated one or ANY other coloring book by wynn kapit!!!As for now, I'm thinking I'll buy new anatomy and physiology books and recolor them!

Good information. Black print on newspaper style paper. Felt pens bleed through and color pencils stretch the paper and do not lay down enough color. Would benefit greatly if the paper was the whiter heavier warm press style that did not bleed through and then printing on both sides of the paper would be cleaner. It is sold as a "coloring book" and would benefit from a revamp, even if the cost increases, to keep this designation. Otherwise this is not a great coloring book as far as the paper pages go....

I like the idea of this book a lot but they should have designed the pages with more of a margin so you could at least cut off the binding and lay the pages flat. It is really annoying that they didn't design the pages to lay flat or at least allow enough binding margin to spiral bind it ourselves.

Learning Geography by coloring is a novel idea. I got this book to review what I learned in Junior High. (I am 63 now). It has sparked my interest in Geography and has made me a geographer! It has inspired me to write short papers on geographical topics, like what are the facts about Timbuktu, what is Oceania, and what are the runes? Get this book. The coloring is fun--at whatever age--and Geography is exciting. We have an amazing world.

This is an excellent supplement to our middle school - high school geography studies. They think they are getting away with something by “just coloring,” but they are really learning so much relative, political and physical geography in the process. I have learned very much too. Even for the one child who despises coloring, this turns out to be just the right amount, as most of the countries only require coloring the outline and marking major cities and places.

This book is fabulous and finally challenging my child! The coloring is great but there's so much extra information in the book. I can actually see reusing it again in a year or two as a refresher. We had gone over map skills so many times but this is such a different approach. The pages copy fairly well. She is elementary age and so I do end up assisting her more than other books, but she was flying through even middle school level books before. This is definitely slowing her down and challenging her, but even as an adult I am learning new things. I might start having to copy some pages for me too!I did NOT receive this product at discount.

I was a bit hesitant to get the book because folks panned it for being terribly out of date. Thing is it's not that bad even though it does address networks that are obsolete. History is good and what the book omits can be gathered through basic research. About the only gripe I have is it's a bit light on some aspects of communications but then again this book is an introduction to communication systems. I have only read through chapter 8. But as a "comm guy" I would say it covers the material fairly well.

easy read...and well organized although some of the concepts are quite intense

Although this textbook is required for the course I am taking, the reading is much easier than any other text I have read. A layman can read and understand this text. I would certainly recommend it!

It still talks about hubs in this book, which seems crazy to me. I haven't seen hubs in action in over 5 years. But then it somehow mentions brand-new technologies like Zigbee and 10G. It's all over the map and the editing is probably where it needs to be improved. Perhaps they just add material and never take any out.

Well it was a retired text book, it's nice to have in hardback. Probably the most boring text book ever but I learned a lot about servers, networks, wire types and all kinds of electrical and data components.

With the practice of medicine changing constantly, it was comforting to read this clearly written book by Dr. Allan Ropper, Harvard professor and clinical neurologist. This book is written so that the reader feels as though Dr. Ropper and his co-author, Professor Burrell are explaining the constant and delicate balancing act of being a good doctor as well as being a good human being. Yet,there is no sugar-coating here. Some of the cases are just heartbreaking, but this is not a work of fiction. I would highly recommend this book for everyone and anyone in the medical and allied health fields as well as to patients and the families of patients who have had more than a passing acquaintance with diseases of the brain...and God knows, there are many...patients as well as diseases. I am glad I was not the editor of this book since it, that is, the book, would have been double the size if I had. Those of us that have read "Reaching Down...." are already looking forward to Dr. Ropper's next book...especially those of us who have been down the proverbial "rabbit hole" or know someone who has.

I just finished reading this book. It took me more than a few days because I parsed it out to myself, wanting to make it last and wanting to savor its pieces. I especially wanted, or needed, to contemplate the juxtaposed stories of two ALS patients who chose such different paths for themselves. Granted, their experiences of the disease were very different, but still the skillful telling caused me to enter a contemplative state for several days, especially after the recently publicized and much debated case of a woman with terminal brain cancer choosing to "die with dignity" in Portland, Oregon, where there is a law protecting her right to do so. There are many stories that I found at once fascinating, heartrending, and reassuring. It is good to know that there are still practitioners like Dr. Ropper, with such great intellect and compassion, relying on the oldest and still most consistently relevant tools in the diagnostic toolbox: observing, questioning, listening, and learning and remembering. This is great story telling. It's about brains and muscles and bones, all with a medical and scientific backdrop...but in the beginning and in the end, it's about human beings, the ones who hurt and the ones who help.

Plenty in this book to satisfy anyone who appreciates medical facts. Accounts of various brain diseases, the effects of such on his patients and how treating and interacting with these patients shaped him into the distinguished doctor he became, is told from the personal perspective of Dr. Allan Ropper, a renowned neurologist. A great read, this book lays bare the brutality of life-changing or terminal illnesses which may be uncomfortable from some to read. Highly recommended, immensely interesting and informative. My only complaint is that the book has a last page! I wanted more.

This is a great book. But first, a disclaimer: I am a pediatrician, which means that, although I do not routinely deal with the diseases Dr. Ropper describes, I am familiar with them, the concepts and the language. Still, I am sure that non-health care providers would appreciate and learn from his book.Dr. Ropper is a brilliant and insightful clinician who is able to articulate the medical issues and thepsychological and ethical problems faced by physicians who think and care deeply about their patients.Early in the book, he makes some amazing diagnoses. While I was impressed, I was concerned that the book might consist of a string of self-congratulatory episodes. Not at all. Dr. Ropper freely admits to the limits of medical knowledge as well as his own. But most impressive is the long section which makes up the last part of the book, addressing the challenges to doctor, patient and family of dealing with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). As a physician, what can I do that would be helpful to my patient facing a terminal illness? As a patient, what decisions would I make for myself? I found myself oscillating between the roles of physician and patient. The writing draws you in. In the end, I felt I had witnessed not only the workings of an astute medical mind, but also a highly sensitive, caring human being.

As a doctor in training, I used to follow Dr Ropper's scholarly papers, and has been always amused by the diversity of neurological illnesses he has written about and is an expert in. And now as a neurology post graduate resident, I jumped at this book as soon as it came out and then bought the kindle edition and most recently, got the audio-book as well. So, in effect, I have read this book three times already and still play a random chapter from the audiobook (mostly Chapter 7: A Story Is Worth A Thousand Pictures) when I am doing something mundane. Interestingly enough, after nearly 5 years into neurology/neurosciences, it took a book like this to tell me why I love this art and science. It's "the brain in its all messy glory" and the intrigue of the organ "that makes poetry", as Dr Ropper's book puts it. As a resident, I am increasingly asked by medical students interested in seeing what life is like, as a Neurologist, and I think I can confidently now recommend this book to those folks.

I am neither a med student nor an MD but I found this book very interesting and easy to read. I ordered this book after reading a review in the NYT titled "If House were a Neurologist". I even gave it as a gift to a House, MD fan.The book is a series of unusual neurological cases, like those on the TV show, but without the sarcasm. My only complaint is the Italian-American as Mafia stereotype. It shows how neurologists think and reason. In a way, it is somewhat philosophical. If you like medical non-fiction, buy this book. I recommend the ebook because of the vocabulary. Being able to touch a word and immediately have the definition is very useful.
