I'm a big fan of the Dark Tower series and recently decided to map Mid-World (cartography is a hobby of mine). This is very challenging for a number of reasons - the world has moved on, directions and distances are no longer reliable, and King was not necessarily consistent about geography. But it's been a fun project for me and the Dark Tower Concordance helped tremendously. What I was not expecting was to read it straight through, cover to cover, but I did because it's fantastic - a trip down memory lane combined with interesting details gleaned by Robin Furth during her time as Stephen King's research assistant.
The Dark Tower is a way of life. For those true appreciators of the series, you know what I mean. A friend of mine, the friend who actually recommended, relentlessly I might add, that I read The Dark Tower series (I being the King fan, he being the Tower fan), after finishing the series said to me, not unseriously: "Honestly, I haven't come across anything in the real world that disproves the existence of the Dark Tower." That's the kind of affect that the series can have on people, and it was the same for me.All that being said, if you're a Dark Tower fan, this book is a must. I carry it with me frequently wherever I go, so that at any given time, if I have a down moment, I can stroll through it and get a taste of Mid-World, of the memories, of the journey of the Dark Tower series. It's so complete, from details you might have missed or forgotten, to the languages and terms of the various worlds in the books, to the mythologies and stories, even creation stories, to maps of the ka-tet's journey, and diagrams, my favorite being of Maturin carrying the universe on his shell, with the universe being represented as the Dark Tower and the guardians and their beams all connecting. Essentially it's a bible for the Dark Tower, and because I'm a bit odd like that and a considerable fanatic, I find myself wondering: why would anyone bother with actual religious texts when this exists? I joke, but that's the beauty of the series, and the beauty that this book exists.Highly recommended! It's more than a reference guide: it's a way of life.
This is a must-have for any serious Dark Tower fan. I had so many questions upon completing the series, and all of them were answered by the Concordance. It really shines as a character index and glossary, and the maps are incredible in helping flesh out the world for the reader. King himself has given this book his blessing, which was reason enough for me to snag a copy, and the payoff is completely worth it.
You want to be able to connect dots in the Stephen King book series? This is the book for you. You need an explainer on some of the things in the books? This is the book for you. If you love the King novels about Roland and his crew as much as I do this is the book for you.

This concordance is an excellent update to the original concordance. I am yet to use it to help my rereading of the Dark Tower novels, but it should be very useful. Robin Furth sure knows how to put things together.
This is a must have if your going to read the entire series from start to finish. It helps connect the dots of stuff that is inferred. Or if someone wanted to read an in depth summary of the entire series it would be good.
Wonderful concordance. A truly great addition to the Stephen King Dark Tower library. This book is worth every penny.
