The story was just not that interesting for me. Samantha‘s obsession with that one kiss from years earlier just seems kind of dumb. I also felt that that one night led to her having a five-year relationship with someone she originally said she didn’t even want to be with. Like seriously Samantha doomed herself to a boring not loving relationship with someone she actually didn’t even seem to like most of the time. Now I don’t know about you but being disappointed by one kiss that lead nowhere would not make me get into a relationship with someone I wasn’t even interested in because he was safe. I get that she was disappointed and felt a little bit humiliated that he wasn’t as into her as she was into him. Samantha also seem to feel more humiliated and like Tristian had deceived her about actually liking her which makes her decision to agree and date Steven who she already stated she has no interest in or likes romantically seems pretty stupid. Then to make it worse she of course stays with him for the next six years in a mediocre and very disappointing relationship. Obviously this is yet another plot point so Samantha can have the justification of dumping her boyfriend by text and then getting with the guy she really wanted to be with. I also felt that the exaggeration of why she didn’t want to tell Renee about the relationship is just kind of stupid And just a plot device to cause more drama later. Overall I was just very underwhelmed by this whole book.

I thought it was an easy read. It was a cute story, but it was really hard to concentrate after reading multiple spelling mistakes/grammar mistakes.

I first started reading this book on chapters and couldn’t get enough. The chapters weren’t coming fast enough and then I realized there was a book I didn’t know about. So I got it and read it in 1 day! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Loved all the characters so much.

First, let me say that the author can definitely put words together. She needs an editor. I had a hard time finishing this book. Boring, childish, and annoying come to mind. Going back to the past was a waste of time. The H in the story was immature, indecisive, and obsessed about a kiss from six years ago. There was zero chemistry and did not give the feels like great authors do such as, Tija n and Brittainy Cherry. This author may be good at teen books because her story and characters are immature and act too young. I wonder where all the 4 and 5 stars came from. Friends, perhaps? Just a bad book.

I really enjoyed this story. The chemistry between the main characters was great and the author did a wonderful job of describing details of the story.I think this book would make a great TV movie. (Lifetime, Hallmark)

I have to read more of her books, sensual without being vulgar.

Stumble on the story through an interactive game and since I've heat that some of this stories are way different than the book and searched for it. It's warmed my heart. The guild the anticipation helplessness are very close to home. I love it. It's gonna be one of my favorite.

This is another great introductory book by Praying Medic. I love this teacher as he doesn't have a 500 page book how to do something with all the rules and protocols, but he writes a simple introduction and encourages you the reader to go and experience it yourself. I got this book because in Benjamin Franklin`s autobiography, Ben says that after reading this book, he stopped trying to force his `correct`opinions down people`s throats and he began to play the skeptic, the doubter, and in doing so he began to win arguments and people, and sometimes humiliating his fiercest foes, even when his position was the weaker one. After having read it, I have begun adapting my own style of speech and experiencing very positive results, in the workplace, with friends and with strangers. This book is worth reading slowly.

I love Socrates because of this book. Read it with the same mind a 15 year old would read twilight and you might fall in love with this man and Xenophon for delivering such an amazing review of his life. I refuse to read anything by anyone else, about Socrates, because I'm afraid they won't have the personal touch that Xenophon brings to this book. I cry every time I finish it. I miss him when it's done.

It is a testament to the clarity of thought and intellect shown by Socrates that both Plato and Xenophon - politically, almost polar opposites - sought to rehabilitate his reputation shortly after he was forced to commit suicide. His appeal to left and right - with each side endeavouring to lay claim to his allegiance and legacy - reminds this reviewer of recent literary and critical responses to George Orwell. With only fragments of Socrates' original works surviving, here the politically conservative Xenophon chose to emphasise what could be considered the more socially conservative aspects of Socrates thought (although "The Dinner Party" contains a few challenges to socially conservative mores!)To what degree Plato or Xenophon have modified Socrates' views in their own image in The Republic (Penguin Classics) or Conversations of Socrates (Penguin Classics) is unclear - it is quite possible that Socrates was too critical and individual a thinker to be a man purely of the left or right. Xenophon's version is written with clarity and little pretence (if perhaps slanted towards the authors own predispositions) and strikingly illustrates Athenian life in general, and the influence of Socrates and his methods of critical inquiry on Athenian thought and intellectual life in particular. Highly recommended for anybody with an interest in Ancient Greek philosophy, culture or history.

The book is a little tough of a read. You need to go back and forth in certain parts. I feel that the introductions at each chapter are necessary to understand the background of the dialogues but at the same time they tend to extend a little too much.I recommend to also read Plato's Socrates.Wonderful book.

Very few extant works remain on the life of Socrates: mainly the works of Xenophon and Plato. In "Conversations of Socrates" Xenophon writes extensively on the philosophical thought of the master in a forthright and simple manner. Xenophon has not always been praised for his writing style but he covers the Socratic principles thoroughly. The subjects aren't organized particularly well with examples of Socrates' views on certain virtues scattered throughout the text. Nevertheless, since Socrates didn't write his own thoughts we are very fortunate that we have these works.Xenophon divided his works into four books: Socrates' Defense; Memoirs of Socrates; the Dinner-Party; and the Estate-Manager. Xenophon writes in the second and third person so that we "hear" the Socratic Method throughout the text. We see how Socrates used questions of his followers to teach them to think. His method thoroughly flushed out the truth and often revealed the flaws in the arguments his opponents and followers made.I thoroughly enjoyed reading Xenophon. One could almost imagine being right there with the master as he shredded the weaknesses in faulty arguments and uncovered hidden truths. His opinions on virtues may be dated to Twentieth Century people but one must remember that it was largely his teachings that had such a great influence on Western thought and ideas.

Very disappointed. Thought this should be a translocation of another person's perspectives off Socrates. Instead it it's three authors opinions and comparison to Plato's perspective. If you want someone to tell you what to think and believe this is the book for you. Otherwise skip it.

I really enjoyed this book. Whether it is as accurate or not as Plato, who knows, but it had a wealth of great information to soak in. As is said in the introduction several times, Xenophon does seem to stray, particularly in Book 3 and 4 of Memoirs; they also seem a little fabricated, although I'm sure they had at least a degree of Socrates in mind when written. Either way, I really enjoyed this book and would like to think it's a pretty decent portrayal of Socrates.

Really enjoying this little book, very interesting, keeps my mind off other things. It's always interesting to see the different elements of buildings, the many styles, and various periods. Looking at the features of different buildings is like free art!

INCREDIBLE. In this pocket sized little book is everything on Western Architecture from Classical to modern times. It's a fun detailed read that provides alot of great resources without all the excess in depth and detail. it's also full of amazing pictures.

I ADORE this sturdy little manual. I can't get enough of it! It is concisely packed with scholarly information. After hours and hours of study as an Interior Design and Art History major, I love being able to sit down with a concise compendium of easy to reference, erudite information on architectural types and styles, from vaults to pilasters. It is not overly verbose (as are most texts on the subject), which works for my learning style.Information is separated into quick sections with small reproductions of period etchings, which are viewable in such fine detail that you may even occasionally want to whip out your pocket magnifying glass. I mean, it's all here. Do yourself a favor and buy this book, carry it with you, and ENJOY the heck out of it! Do I sound happy? OH YEAH!! Great purchase! More please.

Very useful little book.

Clear illustrations and well-written explanations. It's thorough and talks about the different styles of architecture, which is what I was looking for.

I don't know if its just me or that I'm getting old, but I can barely see the beautiful illustrations that the book have.I think the author have a good idea, the idea that you can "read" a building if you have the correct vocabulary. I think its not that easy, there's a lot of variables involved. Its not just a languaje, its a discipline, and its not universal. I think architecture is history's testimony, and not just a form of expression.Anyway, beyond what I think, if architecture is a languaje, maybe this book is the right syllabus.

This is a great book and needs to be read by anyone who wants to be educated about the fascinating history of architecture. I love this book!

We need instead a Methodism that is renewed and empowered to continue the social work of spreading scriptural holiness across the land, as the early Methodists did."To my fellow United Methodists (or anyone thinking through the issues): I highly recommend you pick up this book, which was written in response to Adam Hamilton's Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White. It is a very timely call to remember the importance of and need for theological reasoning in the heated debates in which we find ourselves. Arnold's title, both in its actual content and in the way in which it turns the title from Adam Hamilton's book upside down, might imply that the book itself would contain those characteristics often associated with "black-and-white" thinking: unwillingness to listen to others; stubborn refusal to consider hard data; lack of critical processing of available resources. The books is anything but that. Rather, as is typical of Dr. Arnold's work, the book demonstrates a high level of humility in its presentation. In fact, the larger part of Dr. Arnold's critique of those who would want to alter the official stance of The United Methodist Church on homosexuality is that they have failed fully to consider how the church's own doctrinal standards have been thrown out of sync in the processing of the issue. Although much of his efforts seem directed at Hamilton, he really seeks to speak more broadly to the whole church. His message is loud, clear, and bold: the UMC has adopted a particular stance on the issue that accurately and graciously reflects its own identity; no real compromising position exists; thus, the members of the UMC should recognize the fork in the road for what it is.As he implies, although the issue of sexuality is crucial and sensitive, much bigger issues lay under the surface. The church must determine how it will reflect theologically. Either we will maintain our established views of Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience, and the way in which they interact; or we will acknowledge that a shift on this particular issue of sexuality requires a shift on those basic issues of how we determine God's perspective on anything.

Dr. Arnold uses careful logic to sort out the correct and misconstrued statements by Rev. Hamilton in his book "Seeing Gray in a Black & White World." There are sources quoted to support Dr. Arnold's logic and pointed claim that often the middle road doesn't exist and is a fallacy. Rev. Hamilton is proclaimed to be a sincere, passionate, loving pastor who is mistaken and misleading in a variety of statements in his book. The theological reasoning used to refute errors in Hamilton's book comes from many years of ancient and modern, Wesleyan and other protestant history. There is excellent support of continuing the use of the Scripture over-arching the rest of Outler's quadrilateral in solving the theological and cultural conundrum of the role of sexuality in the life of a Christian.

Adam Hamilton has walked away from Christianity years ago. He will inherit a couple of empty sanctuaries for his trouble. I thought Bill was too generous to Adam throughout the book. Evangelicals just don't have the fight within them to name the Marxists in UM power the enemies of the Gospel. Let them be accursed.
