Wow! What a fantastic story! I learned so much reading this book. This is a really interesting story about a great composer who wrote music for our country during some of its most trying times. I had no idea that some really well known songs - God Bless America and White Christmas were written by the same person with such an interesting background. I love learning about people who overcame great odds to do extraordinary things, and the nature of this book - being a picture book - makes it a great opportunity to teach my kids about one such situation. Highly recommended!
